Riley's Farm Reflection
The First thing we did when we got there was either the food making or making our own close I’ll start off with the food making. When we got in the lady told us to sit on the ground, she told us how about 3 nights ago the red cotes took her brothers to sleep in a barn that was not built fully then that night it rained and they got sick. Later they told her to make 12 dozen biscuits with a small amount of dough. Then she taught us how she made dough, it was with yeast and something else. There were 4 stations in there one for making the dough into balls, another for crushing grains, another one for churning with a stick that you push down into a bucket, then a station where you put your initials on a paper to get petitions to go against the British. I liked how we got to crush up the grains. What was interesting was that we used a feather with ink to sign the petitions.
Next we were taught how to sew and make close with a thing I forgot what it was called. We had a stick and we went around the strings in the middle of the thing with a stick. Then we put a string in the middle. It was really difficult for us. My partners were Edmar, Alex T., and Jake. We kept on messing up and making it look wierd. My favorite part was trying to make it and failed, I don’t know why. What I found interesting is that if bought your clothes then you have to pay taxes for them so that's why the make their own.
Then we went to learn our manners and how lads greet lasses and how lasses greet lads. How we greeted lads is put one foot in front of the other bow and if you have a hat take it off but if you didn’t put 2 fingers on your forehead and swing it across. Then how lasses greet lads is they bend a little and pick up their skirt a little bit and nod their head a little. We talked about our manners and how we should be around people. The lady said that if someone made a bad joke it be polite to laugh so she told a bad joke and we did a fake laugh. My favorite part is the greeting. The thing that I thought was interesting and fun was again the greetings.
Later we went by a water pump with a guy in a blue coat and he talked about the government. So first he needed 6 volunteers I think to play in a play about how the government works and he will be the tax collector. At the start there were two sides one side with all the boys and another with the girls. We asked the guys for their taxes which were pieces of paper that I forgot what they were called. So they had lines, each had some weird names. There were 3 people who refused to pay their taxes and others who did. Then the tax collector had two of the people get married. They had to pay for a marriage licence. They refused. So they went on the other side of him. Where the people who didn’t pay where. The rest payed for everything. What I found interesting was that you have to pay to get married. What I liked was when the two people got married because it was all awkward.
Now one of my most favorite things was practicing shooting with a stick. First he told us to answer him with all your might and anger and to say I SIR. Then he told us the words (that I forgot) to move left or right or 180˚. Then he told us to march in sink and follow the flags man (which was Dylan) and only turn where he turns. He always has to be in front. Then he told us to grab the sticks which were our muskets. Then we had calls to make formation with the musket. The first one was to stick it out in front of you. The next was to put it in your left hand and put it over your shoulder. Then to reload your gun by putting it down in front of you and ripping off the cap of an imaginary gunpowder cup and yelling “Ptuhhh!!” then drop all of it in then shoving it down 7 times with an imaginary stick to push it down. Then you put it out in front of you then under your armpit and to fire you scream “BANG”. What I found interesting was how you reloaded it. My favorite part was when the guy told Dylan he had to be in front at all times and he kept on making us look 180˚ and Dylan kept running up and down to get in front of the line. After that we ate lunch.
After lunch we went to get in a bunch and it was time to go into war. I was in a group of our class and another school class against another two class which was Britain and we were U.S.A. The rules were we had to fall every time we die and we can’t get up and start living we have to stay down. The captain on their side shot a real musket but it was full of gunpowder so no real bullet sadly. We kept on firing a fierce battle they got closer. Sometimes they sent a person to come at us but he died right away. Then they started coming closer and closer, we held our fire then when they came to close we all shot and all died. Then I realized, we were pretending the sticks were muskets and whenever we shot we screamed boom.At the end one of the guys gave a very deep speech and it was so beautiful. Saying to thank the people who risked their lives to have a better future for the next generation.

The causes of the revolutionary war are the quartering act which is when the British would invade colonist houses and made them make them make them food, another reason was the tea act which was when the colonist had to buy tea only from Britain, another major reason was the sugar act it was when they made them pay taxes for the sugar, molasses, coffee, wine, etc.
For my research me and Hector did the Declaration of Independents.
When did this happen?
July 4, 1776-1783
What happened?
The Declaration of Independence was when thirteen American Colonies decided they were gonna form a new country totally independent and away from Britain. It happened in the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Roger Sherman, Robert R. Livingston, and Thomas Jefferson who wrote it.
This event contributed to American Revolution because…
It contributed to the American Revolution by ending it or ending with it because at the end of the war was when we were allowed to make a whole new country. But King George wasn't happy about that and they called the colonist traders. So the Declaration of Independence has made it possible for us to to be here and not ruled by a king and queen. It made us be heard and able to make decision to the government we couldn't before. The Declaration of Independence has made it that we don’t have to pay so much taxes and be ruled by Britain. It lead us to the future that we live in now.

The Article of Confederation was a document that "free" American colonies decided upon with rules in which to govern themselves. The problems about the Articles of Confederation were that each state had it's own currency, it was difficult to trade amongst states, central government couldn't protect citizens or solve arguments between states, and the government couldn't ask people for taxes. The Preamble is a paper of the new rules they made to make M'urica better. It was made because
